DESCRIPTION:The Digital Governance Awards (DGA) is an annual search for best practices among local government units in utilizing information and communications technology (ICT) to effectively and efficiently deliver its public services to its constituents\, business stakeholders\, and other government units. DGA started in 2012 as eGov Awards\, was known as the Digital Cities PH Awards by 2017\, and became DGA by 2019.\n\n\n\nWith the DGA strategy\, the IIDB\, DILG\, and NICP envisions the proliferation of revolutionary ICT-based initiatives in the country that will support clearer\, wider\, and faster access to and delivery of information and services in our local government.\n\n\n\nHOW IT STARTED\nThe National ICT Confederation of the Philippines (NICP)\, in partnership with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Cyber City Teleservices Philippines Inc. (CCTP) launched in synergy the eGOV Awards for LGUs in 2012.\n\n\n\nThe signing of the eGOV Awards MOA was held in Naga City in 2012 with the late Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo\, former NICP President and current ICT Industry Development Undersecreatry Jocelle Batapa-Sigue and Cyber City Teleservices Philippines Inc. (CCTP) President George Sorio as signatories.\n\n\n\nThe first eGOV Awards in 2012 was named in honor to the late Secretary Jesse Robredo of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) who helped initiate the first DILG-NICP eGov partnerships and for his exemplary work as a local public servant in integrating ICT as part of good governance strategies.\n\n\n\nOUR VISION\nThe LGU eGOV Awards share the vision of establishing indices for local government units across the country in harnessing the potentials of ICT towards raising the bar in delivering public service. DESCRIPTION:The CLICkCONEx2023\, with the theme “Igniting Countryside Digital Economy through MAGIC: Modernization. Access. Governance. Innovation. Connection.”\, is aimed at supporting and sustaining the growth of the IT-BPM industry in Luzon.   It seeks to create a working synergy for all Luzon Regions in ICT development and collaboration between the ICT Councils and their respective Regional Development Councils (RDCs) and Regional Line Agencies (RLAs).  Also\, CLICkCONEx2023 seeks to promote the potential of Luzon as a location for ICT-enabled jobs\, opportunities and investments.   It also serves as a venue for NICP ICT Council members and all its partners to gather during the 3rd quarter of the year to exchange notes and provide updates\, all in support of NICP’s vision.  NICP works through its member ICT councils\, which is generally composed of government\, academe and industry to develop\, implement and sustain strategies to create more jobs and drive innovation in the countryside.
